The history of ALMETHA goes back to the time, when steel production was still a dangerous trade. The name "Stromberg" emerged for the first time around 1790 in connection with bright steel production. Since then, it's closely connected with it.

The foundation of ALMETHA Stromberg & Co by Mr. D. Stromberg on the 01.06.1964 as a trading company in Altena/Westphalia was a milestone in the company history and at the same time decisive for the naming "ALtenaer METall HAndel."

The bright steel drawing plant Franz H. Stromberg was sold in 1974. In 1975 the ALMETHA Stromberg & Co. KG with it's warehouse in Hemer was activated. – After a short stopover in Hagen the warehouse and administration were centralized on a private compound with good traffic accessability in Kamen-Heeren and the company converted in a GmbH. Since the departure of the former founder D. Stromberg 2005, the company was converted into ALMETHA GmbH.

The structural changes were accompanied with a more far-reaching and flexible modern company. New product areas were opened up, new quality standards defined and new customers won on the international market. Today, ALMETHA is best positioned within the market, with its broad range of products, first class service through a well-dedicated team and not least, thanks to its growing number of satisfied regular customers.
